Since Huette von Ahrens brought it up (heh heh):

Good aaansuh. Around here, specifically in the Eastrealm, we have a
basically similar response, differing only in detail:

11.

1 to note that it needs to be done.

1 to put 17 apprentices on the job of researching which species of bee
ought to be obtained to create the wax and how it ought to be processed,
and 14 more to research the appropriate fiber and manufacture of the wick.

9 more Laurels to argue as to whether this was done correctly.

4 SCA e-lists on which to cross-post this argument.

1 gentle to cross-post a message, preferably on rec.org.sca as well as
the 4 e-lists, about how inherently evil peers are, conspiring against
The People to keep them in the dark.

1 Maunche to actually create the candle.

Oh, and one Silver Crescent with a match.

In another Kingdom, you can insert Oak, or Willow (depending on whether
candle-changing is deemed an art or a science), or Sycamore, or whatever
your Kingdom has as a Kingdom-specific A&S award/order, for the East's
Maunche, and any appropriate service award for the Silver Crescent.

Huette, yours is an excellent answer as well!
