Choko is a pear-sized green fruit with a  firm but wrinkled skin that grows
on a vine. I don't think it reallly has a much of a taste.  When I was a
kid we used to firmly believe that McDonald's "Appple Pies" were just choko
pies flavoured with cinnamon- how could you telll the difference?! (I bet
they still are).
I don't know how particular they are to Australia (or SE Asia)
