I, too, have a brown thumb, which is why I only grow things that thrive 
on benign neglect.  A couple of years ago, in a fit of enthusiasm, I 
purchased a small pot of thyme and some other herb, which I 
transplanted into a half-barrel in the one sunny spot in my yard.  The 
other stuff died off, but the thyme has been flourishing.  Suggestions for 
its use?  Period or non- is okay.
