SC - spice scale

Greetings

I bought my scale through mail order from Wm Sonoma about 18 yrs ago and
it still works beautifully.  The brand name is Soehle.  I remember Soehle
had two models: 

model 1) a (4" x 5.5") rectangular spice scale, measuring up to 8 oz by
1/8 oz increments.  The weighing tray removes for cleaning.  Cleaning is a
real pain, because a low flange running the edge of the tray traps spices,
requiring cleaning by a sharp fingernail or dedicated toothbrush. I solved
this problem by using a 4" x 4" weighing paper to cover the tray.  If you
fold the paper in quarters and re-open it, there's a cross indented in
the paper that keeps the spice in the center of the paper during weighing.
(It's pretty frightening that something I learned in chemistry class has a
real world application!)

I also use this scale to weigh letters, so I know when to put on another
first class stamp.

model 2) a larger drum-shaped spice/flour scale, measuring up to 1 lb by
1/4 oz increments.  I remember the storage lid of the drum inverted to
become a clever flour-weighing bowl. I remember it was twice the cost of
the smaller model.  I never purchased this model (I did yearn for it a
bit), so I can't tell you anything about it.
