"Petite toes"?, perhaps?  

My concern with the referenced recipe lies with the
inclusion of "bastard" as an ingredient.  Who are they
to judge, anyway?  Sure, the guy may be grouchy in the
morning, but consigning him to the stock pot before
his morning cuppa seems...well...hasty.
