	Or, for the same reason, a Saltine cracker.  I've heard
that one can amuse oneself (and annoy the critter) for hours
by handing them repeated crackers, and watching the 'coon try
to figure out where the damn things *go* when they're washed . . .
	Other fun was to frustrate pets with food: feed
peanut butter to a dog (they make some hilarous faces after
the stuff sticks to the roof of their mouth), or a slice of
Velveeta cheese laid down flat on the kitchen linoleum for
a cat (they'll spend hours trying to get it up!).
	Not that I'd ever do anything like that to poor
little animals, of course . . .
