[Sca-cooks] Back from Pennsic

Sigh.

I was napping during the potluck--too much driving, too much heat, not
enough sleep.

I did, however, get to inflict Gatorade on Gunther at the Ironrose
tourney, so all was not lost. ;-)

I bought many many books from Devra and Alban (although I failed to
acquire Nola before they sold out) and did bad things to my bank account.

For those of you wondering with bated breath for the final results of the
bread experiment:

Two loaves of bread went to war--a Brownberry whole wheat, and the
aforementioned test loaf of what turned out to be Oatmeal Nut. There's
about half the oatmeal loaf left, and it's still edible. I am frightened.

Canning went really well, although in future I will want spicer and more
variety.

I noticed that Slippery Rock Produce was making a killing on corn, and
that the food merchant who sold pizza also sold bread. I also noticed that
N19 is a bad place to live if you are trying to keep ice from melting as
you walk back.

But, it was an ok war.
