Alas, I didn't get to the potluck either.  I was babysitting a picky eater
and her younger sister.  If they weren't serving lunchables and bubble gum,
she wasn't interested.  But I was able to get babysitting coverage to go to
a cheesemaking lecture and lab, where we made "bovre" (chevre made with
cow's milk), feta, and brie.  Yum!
