I'm not Siggy (definitely not) but I have bought bags of hardwood
chunk charcoal from my Central Market stores. I've used it when I
was doing pewter casting and wanted something more authentic than
my electric melting pot or charcoal briquets.

Since Central Market is run by H.E.B. you might try asking through
them if you have H.E.B. stores in your area.
