It may not be too close geographically, but the
red cabbage and almond tart in Sabina Welserin are
both excellent, and period. And you will be
wanting marzipans and candied fruit, for a winter
event. Scappi has a nice-looking 'Lombard rice
dish' that I have not tried yet, but have a
redaction for.

Anyone, if you read German: H.P. von Peschke /
Werner Feldman: Das Kochbuch der Renaissance,
Dusseldorf/Zurich 1997, ISBN 3-538-07061-X.
Reasonably decent text, very nice redactions of
some 150 recipes out of Scappi, Platina, de
Rontzier and Sabina Welserin. It's currently
available at knockdown prices (hardcover around
$10) and should be gettable through amazon.de
The authors are not familiar with medieval
tradition, though, and tend to commit the
occasional howler.
