I don't believe that there's a particular age involved with becoming an
apprentice or protege.  The criteria, at least IMHO, is more one of compatibility
and similar interests.  I know that there are several Laurels in your area, but
none of them are on this list...and only one is a cooking Laurel.  That would be
Sir Iain Monlach's lady-wife, and her name escapes me at the moment.
