I seem to recall a pastry chef I once worked with, making glace de viand
(this is a brown stock, usually veal, but sometimes beef or a mixture,
reduced to a glaze, an intensely-flavored and frangrant additive to many
dishes but also a good emergency hotglue). She would then use that to
make whole-wheat dog biscuits. I don't really know what her rationale
was, especially if she was using company time and/or ingredients, but I
can't help but wonder if there was some kind of health concern for her.
I dunno, what's in dog biscuits? Bone meal? The aformentioned whole
wheat flour? Some kind of meat flavoring?

It's the responding in kind part that has me concerned. While I trust
Barney implicitly, some of his pets can be whimsical at times.
