OK, this thread inspired me to go visit Tigger, since I was only a few
blocks from his home. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls of all
ages, the One True Tigger lives with Kanga and Roo (appropriately) and
Eeyore and, of course, Winnie the Pooh, in mid town Manhattan.

I copied the info from the case. They were purchased and given to CR
between 1920 and 1922. Pooh was his first birthday present. In 1947, they
were given (by whom, I am not sure) to the New York publisher, who in turn
donated them to the NY Public Library in 1987. I remember there was a bit
of a fuss a few years ago, when someone in Britain realized this and wanted
to bring them back there, but it was decided (in Britain, don't remember by
whom) that they seemed to be well cared for and happy here, and might stay.
They have a nice case in the Children's Room.

They are all worn looking, which is reasonable for anyone who is 80 and has
gone bump down the stairs... Tigger, BTW, is not bright orange. I'm not
quite sure what color he was originally, but it couldn't have been that.
Possibly beige with brown stripes. He certainly didn't call me Buddy Boy!

There were also original editions of the books.

Now I have to go eat some honey.
