  I don't know for sure, but I believe from what I've read, in various
sources, that it was a heavy, sweetish wine.
  I was also looking for information on that same recipe, so I asked
some of the cooks in my area, and I was advised to use a either a
Muscatel (bottom shelf brown bag type) or a Concord grape wine. MD
20/20 was suggested as a possibility.
