I have a CD-ROM which is a compilation of community cookbooks.
It has a lot of old-fashioned recipes. There were dozens of
recipes for "snow cream". Here are a few:

----------------------------------

 #51990 SNOW CREME

 Ingredients :
 3 qts. snow
 3 eggs, beaten
 1 c. milk
 1 tsp. vanilla
 1/3 c. sugar

 Preparation :
Mix all ingredients except the snow. When all ingredients are
thoroughly mixed, blend in the snow and viola!

----------------------------------

#161356 SNOW CREAM "GRANNY'S OLD RECIPE"

 Ingredients :
 1 egg, beaten
 Sugar (see below)
 1 c. milk
Vanilla, as much as you want
 Fresh powder snow

 Preparation :
You can add a little lemon flavoring if you want that flavor.
Keep the vanilla to about 1 tablespoon if you do. Beat egg in bowl.
Add as much sugar as it takes to make egg stiff. Add 1 cup milk
and as much vanilla as you like to taste. Beat this mixture on high
until it is whipped good. Slowly: Add snow (about a big scoop at a
time) as you mix with a spoon. Work fast mixing, you want it to be
cold and thick. Keep in freezer but it's best served right away!

----------------------------------

 #309608 SNOW CREAM

 Ingredients :
 3 egg yolks
 1 c. sugar
 1 can evaporated milk
 2 tsp. vanilla
 Fresh soft snow

 Preparation :
Beat egg yolks and sugar until fluffy. Add milk and vanilla.
Add snow until consistency of ice cream. Freeze.

----------------------------------

 #406005 SNOW CREAM

 Ingredients :
 Fresh snow
 1 1/2 c. milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla flavoring (or any
    flavor)
 2 eggs, beaten real well
 3/4 c. sugar

 Preparation :
   Blend all ingredients together well; add about 3/4 cup sugar;
blend. Add fresh fallen snow, stirring constantly, until mixture is
thick and creamy; serve. Try chocolate or strawberry, etc. over it,
it's great! As it melts, add a little more snow! HINT: My family
beats the eggs with a fork real well and then we add the rest of the
 ingredients, then the snow.

----------------------------------

 #411137 GRANDMA'S SNOW ICE CREAM

 Ingredients :
1 lg. bowl or pan of snow
1 can evaporated or condensed milk
    (condensed makes it richer)
 2 tsp. vanilla
 1 c. sugar

 Preparation :
Slowly pour the milk over the snow, then sprinkle the vanilla over
the snow. Mix lightly with spoon or fork. Sprinkle in the sugar
and mix lightly. Eat immediately; do not try to freezer or
 refrigerate.
