http://www.daleysfruit.com.au/facbra.html has
this to say about them...

Brazilian Cherries are very eye pleasing, with fine,
Eugenia foliage and red or red-black, ribbed, eight-sided,
berry-like fruit. They are not cherry-like, the fruit
is more like a strong, tart, sweet berry. This fruit is
considered one of the richest vitamin C natural sources
on Earth. The plant and fruit are very ornamental.
The skin is very thin and shiny. The soft, juicy flesh
is orange, varying somewhat with the selection. The
fruits contain one round seed or two hemispherical,
comparatively large seeds. The main crop matures in
the spring but there are some fruit most of the year.
Only a few weeks elapse between flowering and fruit set.
Fruiting of the Brazilian cherry usually begins 2 or 3
years after planting.

The spelling given by most websites is: Brazilian.. one l
not 2 l's. One site gives them as Brazilian cherry = Jambos.

There are a number of recipes if you'll search under jambos or
brazilian cherry recipes on google.
