You know, apart from the incident in which the executive chef pelted the bread delivery man with rolls the chef said were stale, and which the delivery man said weren't ("Oh, if they're not stale, you won't mind getting hit with one, huh? Or two? Or three? Or four?'), I've never witnessed a chef hitting an employee. I once _heard_, from one of my teachers, about a chef either slapping or abruptly firing a cook (I forget which), who hauled back his arm to slug the chef, who countered with a single upraised index finger. The cook shut his mouth and left. Now _that's_ authoritah!
