[Sca-cooks] eating from couches or lounges

I remember reading somewhere that in ancient times it was considered less healthy to eat sitting up.  At least in Rome and possibly Greece.

Anyone else read/heard this?

I noticed this is unclear. What I meant was that perhaps eating on
the reclining sofas was intentionally difficult. That you had your
servents feed you and that the sofas were used because they highlighted
that you had these servents to use for this.

No, I don't eat on the sofa. Rather unconfortable I'd think. Also, to

eat on the sofa I'd have to first remove the books and boxes of

things, the mail, the coats and various other items that now reside

there. :-)
