SC - spelling please

[Philip & Susan Troy]

In my childhood, potato bugs were bright green
caterpillars.  The rolling-up bugs were called pill bugs,
and this is what leapt to mind when I translated the
passage.  But does anyone know of a connection between
these guys and orange trees?  No orange trees 'round here.
