SC - Per head budgets

When we were last doing feasts, a few years back, we figured three to 
four dollars as the cost of the feast itself--not including site fee 
and such. That in part reflected careful buying, including wholesale 
sources for some ingredients (one of our active members was a 
wholesale butcher, and even before that we were buying at the Water 
Market, which is Chicago's wholesale food market), and in part the 
fact that we were aiming for period but not for fancy, so were not 
spending money on high end ingredients such as venison or peacocks.
