Actually, "linen" is merely a term for any cloth made from bast fiber, ie,
plants. Flax, nettle, and hemp cloth is all linen. It's just that the
finest is made from flax, and so that's what modern minds think of it as.

OB food reference: if your nettles are too old for pottage, spin them!
