I was going to recommend this book (Elizabeth David's _Harvest of the
Cold Months_) but couldn't remember the title and the book is at home
and I'm here at work.

Thanks for the reminder about the wine with the crushed ice. Since
I recently got a shaved ice machine, I'm going to have to try this
with some wine. From my experience with the sugar-syrups (actually
the Splenda ones), I suspect that a fruity, strong wine will do
best.

This topic of period snow cones/ice cream seems to periodically
re-occur usually in the summer time. I guess I'll have to create a
file in the Florilegium on this.
