I can't speak to the production process, but the end result is very
similar.  Marmite is 'sharper', Vegemite 'earthier', if such adjectives
make any sense.  I have a jar of each in my cupboard.


In North America, at least, they've been gradually watered down over
the years.  Once you could almost cut the spread into cubes; now it
almost drips off the knife.
