Here's the updated flyer for the cooking symposium event being held
in Starleaf Gate, MIddle Kingdom this December 1st. For those of you
looking for crash space, I am about 20 minutes from the
Michigan-Windsor border (not including travel time to get through
customs). For those of you travelling as US citizens, I'd like to
remind you of the flyer's note to bring 2 forms of ID for crossing
the border. You best ID will be a birth certificate and a passport or
a driver's license. Make sure at least one of your forms of ID has a
photo. They're very courteous at customs but they *will* search your
vehicle. They're very fast about it. -- Iasmin

Site fee: $5 plus a dish for potluck feast (to feed 8-10,
reheat/cooling facilities avail.)
A simple lunch will be available for approx. $5
Join us for a day of good company, learning and eating!
Classes for beginners and advanced cooks.
Merchanting space for cooking related goods is limited- cost is a
donation for raffle

favourite recipe(s))
Discussions on the art of cooking in the medieval style, modern
issues such as food safety and networking with other cooks .
Several books have been donated for auction, including but not
limited to; "To the King's Taste", " Vivandier", "Seven Centuries of
English Cooking", "A Sip Through Time",
"Tacuinum Sanitatis- The Medieval Health Handbook"
All books will be given a starting price for auction.
(all profits go to supporting next years symposium)
Her Royal Highness, the Gracious Alys Katherine,
has offered to teach a class in "Food in Art." This class will
explore what we can learn from paintings and art of the Medieval
Period.
Our featured lecturer; - Mistress Minowara Kiritsubo from Atlantia is
teaching- Chinese and Mongolian Cooking, Resources and Recipes and
will share with us her knowledge and skills in the Art of Eastern
Cooking.

Directions-
from U.S-all people coming from U.S. MUST have 2 pieces of proper ID (1 photo).
Detroit-Windsor Tunnel-Tunnel exits on Park St-- turn Left, go 1
block to light at Ouellette turn Left again (south) follow Ouellette
to Tecumseh Rd , turn Left (east) on Tecumseh. Follow Tecumseh to
Tourangeau Rd. turn Left (behind Bank of Montreal)
From Ambassador Bridge- Follow exit from customs onto Huron Rd stay
to left,follow to Tecumseh road, turn Left( east), follow through S
curve and on past several lights to Tourangeau, turn Left, site is
behind bank.
from 401- exit at Dougall Rd (3B), eventually you will come upon an
S-curve, rd becomes Ouellette, follow this to Tecumseh rd, Turn Right
(east)..... ....follow until Tourangeau rd , look to your left behind
bank.
