I like this wording. Thank you. I think I will use this as the
description
of one of our two contests for our Yule Revel event.

This has been an ongoing argument here. As far as I remember, I've not
seen a pre-1600 recipe European recipe that is undisputably for white
potatos and not sweet potatoes. Please, more information on this recipe.

For info on both white and sweet potatos and their history, check this
file in the FOOD-VEGETABLES section:
potatoes-msg (80K) 10/13/00 Period white and sweet potato use.
Recipes.

There are lots of recipes in the FOOD-VEGETABLES section for these
various winter vegetables.

She's allergic to food coloring? For instance, cheddar is available in
both yellow and white versions.

Well, in addition to the files in the FOOD-VEGETABLES section mentioned
above, perhaps this one in the FOOD section might be of interest:
vegetarian-msg (75K) 5/12/00 Medieval vegetarianism. Lenten
foods.

Well, this list is an open list and anyone can join. Likewise, the
Florilegium is an open resource, available to anyone who has access to
the World Wide Web and wishes to use it. Those that don't have WWW
access at home can usually get it at a school or a library. I will
also send any of the files by email and I am currently printing off
a large stack of files for a local newcomer who declares he distroys
computers when he gets near them. :-)
