[Sca-cooks] OOP pastry question

She Who Must Be Obeyed, who, though now an ex-patriate, still cooks a mean
pumpkin pie cuts the pumpkin into small chunks, and initially softens it in
the microwave. Then transfer the lot to a pot on the stove and cook it down.
Then she adds all the other bits (condensed milk, nutmeg... I can't think of
the others at this early hour).
