I might as well take a turn as well:)

Thursday I made the regular thanksgiving feast, turkey with
orange/honey/nutmeg glaze, susage stuffing. Ham coated with vanilla glaze,
beans almondine, corn on the cob, Baked in the husk with garlic butter and
sea salt. Cranberry sause (I hate making that:)) and couple different kinds
of bread and rolls, Mashed potatoes, and brown sugar sweet potatoes. This
took all day basicly but was well received..............

THEN!!!

Saturday Night was the annual Harper's Raid Thanksgiving Revel. Attended by
58 people. Now we won't go into the fencing, sewing, talking games etc that
were used to hone a massive appitite by the masses all day Saturday but some
idea of the Feast itself:)
Baron Siggy, smoked Turkey and dressing, 22 or 24 pounds, I am not really
sure he cooked it, there is good chance from the taste, it was stolen off
the table at Valhala, Lord Elric, baked ham with honey/pineapple glaze,
Kathrine, Turkey and dressing (as well as two extra pans, dressing was
oyster dressing), without going on and on with names:) three kinds of sweet
potatoes, two kinds of Yams, home made rolls & bread served hot, Mashed
potatoes with garlic and chives (had not tried that before), and an english
recipe, casarole made of potatoes, eggs chedar cheese and bacon that was
awesome, potatoe salade, cole slaw, spinich dip, more relish dishes that you
can count. Jeanee Franciscas & Don Kalids Salade that was to die for :) I am
missing some dishes I am sure but you get the idea. Now add this to a dozen
home made apple, pumpkin, cherry and strawberry pies as well as the
mandatory white and chocolate sheet cakes (there is tradition at Harper's
Raid Revel, we always have sheet cake and After Shock at 7 AM Sunday on the
porch:) ). sweet mead, french wines by the gallon. You get the idea:) This
was a feast, and it was prepared by the house as a group. It will go down in
memory as some of the best food I have ever eaten. I should note that we
took nothing home:) nothing to any quanity was thrown away, in fact it
looked llike the locusts had invaded india:) As Baron Sigfried says, "You
say decedence like it's a bad thing". Anyone ever gets the chance visit
Harper's Raid.
