More or less, although I've seen "courgette" applied to yellow summer
squash, also. Depending on who you talk to, though (in other words,
England or France, or where you are in either place), courgettes are
either the equivalent of green or yellow zucchini, or picked somewhat
smaller than you see them in most parts of the U.S.A., perhaps even
finger-sized, sometimes even with a wrinkled-up flower at one end. I
guess it's simply a matter of the traditional harvest state, as with
haricots vert, which are either simply green beans or baby green beans,
depending on who you talk to.
