Mundanely, my father is from Colombia.  I went through high school in the
'80s, in the era of "Miami Vice". You wouldn't believe how many times some
poor idiot asked me if my father was a drug dealer.

My response: "Nooo, the family business is neckties.  Would you like one?"

Some people got it, some didn't.  The ones who did left me alone after that.
