If you can, try to get small versions of
pie or sugar pumpkins. They are developed for
cooking, as opposed to those like Baby Boo and
Jack Be Little which were developed for novelty
and decorative purposes. The others bake up, but
the inside flesh isn't as nice as the pumpkins
raised for pies and canning.

pumpkins with photos and helpful hints about
which varieties make good pies, etc.
