I didn't find that anyone else had commented on this
so I will point out that 15th century Florence is
the century of Lorenzo the Magnificent (the most famous of the
Medicis, 1449-1492). I rather think that one can find
quite a bit of material about the Medicis and Florence.

[Lorenzo's tomb (1515) is by this fellow Michelangelo.

Mary Ella Milham in her edition of Platina. On Right
Pleasure and Good Health notes that Florence at its
height informed the rest of Platina's life, even though
Platina spent most of the time physically in Rome.
See pp. 5-9. Most probably anything in Platina would
be fair game for starters and Milham's bibliography
can provide some other places to look.

Is it just me, or does this appear to be a bit of an oxymoron? How much
do they know abot 15th c Florence?:-D)'Lainie
