No paste, unfortunately (nary a patissarie in this little town).  I
whizzed 'round a pound of whole toasted almonds in my food processor.
Then added half of a 2 lb. bag of powdered sugar.  Dash of rosewater
(strong stuff!  Is it all that strong or did I get ahold of some
concentrate?).  Few sprinkles of regular water.  Very tasty, but
mushy.
