[Sca-cooks] Queston on Basic utensils

Home cookery or quantity feast cookery?
Are you thinking maybe someday I will do a
feast and will need some decent equipment?

I think really good thermometers are essential...
get one for meat, one for the oven if you suspect
the oven is off, one for candy if you are going to
do sugarworks, etc.
Buy good knives and learn to sharpen them correctly.
And get a decent sized heavy quality stockpot for pasta,
soups, etc...there are always potlucks that you will
need to bring a dish along to... Never get caught up
in the myth that you need to buy full sets of kitchenware...
Buy what you need, not what the clerk thinks you need.
Shop sales and acquire over time.
