Ooh, have I got an online evil vortex for you <http://www.cookbkjj.com/>
Janet Jarvits Bookseller, who deals with JUST cookbooks. Wheee. I still have
not gotten to her new location yet since she moved about the time my lord
husband lost his job. <glyph of frustration>

You can get away with using Golden Syrup. The point of it is that either syrup
is an invert sugar that controls crystalization and provides moisture as well as
sweetness. I'm not sure why they thought dark brown sugar could be substituted.

Anyway, this tart sounds 'scrummy' and I will probably try it very soon!

The way I learned "stained glass windows" was to cut out windows in the
gingerbread dough and fill the hole with crunched-up hard candy in the desired
color. Do this on top of aluminum foil so the whole thing does not bond
permanently to your baking pan. :-( Is this what they have, or do they describe
a nifty new method?
