The big thing is that the world understands that this could have been THEM!
It could have been the Houses of Parliament in any of several countries, the
Champs Elysees, the Borse, the Kremlin, Hong Kong; any of these.  The
English have been dealing with terrorists like the IRA for years (don't even
call these drug dealing murderers "freedom fighters"!) and they have bled a
great deal.  Now we are going to have to really learn from them, and
possibly from Israel.

All the civilized countries of the world are in this together because they
are involved in making a better life for their citizens which, like it or
not, makes them the Haves to a world afflicted with those who want to be
Haves and d**m the rest of their people.

On a slightly guilty note:  How many of you thought of "Godzilla" when you
saw the footage of people running away from the collapsing tower for the
20th time?  The whole thing keeps seeming like an action feature like
Independence Day, Godzilla, or King Kong.  The Twin Towers got hit in all of
those, I have this little black humor monger at the back of my mind that
keeps saying that Tokyo and Big Ben have to come next.

Regina, the incredibly thankful that all my friends in DC and New York have
reported in and that Robert is safe in Kentucky thanks to the efforts of
this list.

And, judging from the responses from China and Russia which have been
reported by
NBC news, it looks like they've not only managed to awaken a "sleeping
giant" (the
US), but a bear and a dragon as well!  I gather that most of the civilized
world
is outraged by this act.
