I'm in the San Francisco Bay Area where we have some pretty amazing
supermarkets, where one can find all sorts of unusual (for the US)
produce and a wide range of ethnic foods. Part of Berkeley is
referred to as "the gourmet ghetto" because there are so many fine
restaurants and food speciality shops.

I get white wine vinegar at a local independent supermarket. Can't
help you find a place back east. Sorry.
