Please don't be offended, Vara.  My guess is, having seen so much
"patriotic" mail, etc., going through my mailboxes this past week, is
that a lot of folk here in the U.S. are reaching for comfort and
solidarity in any way they can find, without always taking time to think
through all of the implications [oh, goodness, a plane just flew
overhead...it's the first one I've seen in a week].  It has definitely
occured to me, for one, that I wonder how this is how it feels for
people in Bosnia? or Ireland? in all the other places in our world beset
by violence in hate? As a species, we need to figure out how to end this
sh*t we've been inflicting on our brothers and sisters for _way_ too
d at mned long....[sorry for the curse words, but I feel that strongly]
