I'll raise you the Valley of Ten Thousand Smokes and the Good Friday
Earthquake of 1964. And the little Mt. Redoubt incident just before West
Purgatorio a few years ago in Eskalya (Anchorage), delaying travelers from
the West, due to ash, filling the area from at least 25 miles away with the
smell of sulphur....

Disasters remind us that Mother Nature is not to be taken for granted.
