 How about a laying them out on a slab of marble just like in the candy
 kitchens.  Oval slabs can be acquired very cheaply at architectural salvage
 emporiums.   They are the waste cut outs for sinks and go for about $5 US
 around here (West Palm Beach).

I was trying to go for something simple and readily available to most people.
Like a cookie sheet? I just happen to have full size sheet pans at home from
my days of pastissery(pastry chef-ing)
