I thought the addition of vanilla, shallots,
green onions, and garlic were part of the
recipe conspiracy whereby the article with
"original, new" recipes is due, so the writer
gets out the old standby standard source (be it
BH&G, BC, FF, or NYT) and adds vanilla or
whatever and Look ... a new recipe.
Think about it.
