We had a Laurelling ceremony at Coronation this past weekend, and it
was noted just how many of the Worthies who spoke for the candidate,
and the others involved, were of somewhat well-used vintage. I
believe the term was "geezers" ;-). Of course, the implication was
that these particular geezers were worthy Worthies indeed. Sir Edward
Zifran. Countess Brekke. People like that.

To some extent, the SCA is getting older, and while I can see some
possibility for conflict between the different age groups ("ANOTHER
Woods Battle? We just had one last year!!!"), I wasn't aware of our
elders being treated with anything but respect, especially not with
(barely) middle-aged folk like me around to smack those who do not
respect their elders.
