Making butter. Many modern kids have no idea how butter is made. I
was at a demo where a group of children took turns shaking a jar
partially filled with cream. A "dasher" in the jar makes it happen
faster... they used an old spoon bent in half. When the butter
"comes" drain and rinse it, then spread their butter on some bread to
taste it. If you have several jars, its easier for everyone to have
a turn.
I found directions to use a baby food jar, but a long thin jar might
work better, a jelly jar perhaps.
The glass lets the kids see the butter forming.

They have milk available in the camp store and might have cream too,
or recruit someone for a run to the store the night before. If the
weather is too hot, you might need some ice, the cream should be
"room temperature". I'd do a dry run with the particular brand of
cream, so you know how long to shake, and how much butter to get from
it.
