*Lead free glaze*
There's plenty of lead in the glaze of most Moroccan ceramics. I
don't know what the laws are like in Australia. In California, it
*seems* that if an article has lead, one of two things happens, i
guess perhaps based on how much lead... Either it is marked on the
back or a yellow triangle tag is placed on the shelf of the store in
which it is sold, indicating that it contains lead. Or, (if it has
more lead? and is a large item) a couple holes are drilled in it so
that it cannot be used to hold liquid and is useful only for
decoration.
Also, plain red clay (with a lead free glaze) is better than one with
a fancy-dancy pretty glaze.
