You don't have to make the entire feast low carb. A very simple
accomodation is to make a sauce not thickened with bread crumbs,
flour, roux or ground beans - after all, you are willing to
accomodate an allergy by sending out an unsauced meat for those
who cannot do fenugreek/garlic/pepper/whatever. Same principle.
Think of us as similar to celiac/sprue sufferers [because we
actually may be just not at the diagnosable level.] How about a
nice simple dish of picked compost? cabbage is very acceptable,
and if we can eat around the higher carb things that might get
addesd we are good. Take a small amount of something with sugar
in it and sub in splenda, or even fructose if you have no access
to splenda. serve some of the broth seethed wortes that
essentially are dressed with oil. hardboiled eggs, pickled eggs,
scotch eggs, cheese or meat pies can be scooped out of the shell
and eaten if there are no real carb-thickeners in the filling. If
you feel you must add a starch tothicken, emal me and i will
personally donate a package of not-Starch [uses vegetable fiber
and gums to thicken, i can make a thick gravy from stone cold pan
drppings;-)]

AS to the bad people out there, just like allergy sufferers,
maybe we do have to be loud to get our point across. I have been
asked why i just can't pick the mushrooms out of a dish. If you
don't suffer the problem, it may not be real to you, and if they
have had the problems of being told just scrape off the sauce
without being offered a plain roast with either no sauce, or a
decent substitute or being told to pick the chunks of meat and
vedggies out of the sauce like i have been i would be a little
cranky also. Ask Phlip, I will go off my regimin at a feast if I
have no other choice - but i guarentee i will have a carb
hangover the next few days. Think of it as carbs are an addiction
like alcohol. They may be perfectly content to reduce carbs, but
give them a small amount and the body craving will kick in. You
wouldm't serve an alcoholic a drink, don't serve a carboholic carbs.
