[Sca-cooks] Christmas Dinner?

Yeah, sorta.
I had an invite to spend the afternoon with some local friends, but have
really been craving solitude, so am taking the day off to just be
peaceful and quiet, and listen to the wonderful holiday musics on the
radio (just gotta *love* our local public radio station <g>).
I am, however, suprise, suprise....cooking something nice for myself.
(Sounds wierd on this list, but I really hate cooking for just me, so
generally don't bother beyond a couple of casseroles every Sunday that I
can eat on the rest of the week).
I will be having:
Turkey breast stuffed with a cranberry/herb stuffing (it goes between
the skin and meat), roasted with lemon and onion
Smashed tatters (probably with garlic <g>)
Gravy made with the pan juices, shitaake (sp?) mushrooms, and a few
other things
Fresh Brussel sprouts cooked and tossed with blood orange sections in a
citrus/honey-mustard sauce
A salad of mixed greens with vinaigrette
Vanilla ice cream with Cookie Exchange Cookies
and a bottle of cranberry mead <g>

We have pretty much *no* snow here, making it a very brown, but cold,
Christmas....(bad drought), but lots of folks have lights up, and I may
take a walk later and look at them. And I have some presents from
family (all absent) to open.
Plus, I get to watch my kitties play with their new red-and-green
Christmas Catnip Mice.
Have a lovely holiday, everyone, wherever you are, and whatever you
celebrate.
Blessed Be,
Maire
