We already _do_ have a way of contributing to the decision-making
process.  The Board of Directors _regularly_ publishes lists of those
gentle folk who have been nominated to the Board....I've seen lists in
both _TI_ and our kingdom newsletter.  Those lists are specifically
given so that people who know the candidates and their worthiness,
skills, etc., can write in and comment.  And, as far as I know, there
aren't any restrictions placed on who can do the nominating, either,
which means if you know someone you think would be an asset, by all
means, nominate them.
