Oooooo....I almost forgot. I did acquire a wonderful thing that's food
related. As a bit of background, I inherited from my mother an almost
complete service for 8 of Russell Wright ware. This is a fabulous
dinnerware that was designed by the afore-mentioned Russell Wright during
the 40's (I think). The pieces all have a kind of organic shape to them,
and come in wonderful colors, somewhat more subtle than the more widely
known Fiesta ware. It is not being reproduced either, as is Fiesta. To top
it all off, it has been displayed at the Museum of Modern Art in NYC.
At any rate, I had bemoaned the fact that I'm missing some pieces...most
especially the lid for my sugar bowl. My dear sister gave me my Christmas
present yesterday (yes, I know it's late, but we don't see a lot of each
other). When I opened it, I was astounded to find 6 more Russell Wright
dinner plates, a salad bowl and...you guessed it!...a sugar bowl complete
with lid! What a wonderful gift!!!

It has been very quiet- most of yesterday and all of today- nary a
peep-
are we all on the way to Estrella? Is it safe to come out and talk
about
Twinkies? No- wait- that's been done... what shall we talk about
while
so many folks are off in the dust bowl, shopping, fighting, knitting
exciting chain mail...? Surely not everyone has gone?
Not that I don't have anything better to do, mind you...
