Greetings,

I think I should stick out my hand to Brangwayna and offer to make
up, here. I think we pushed each others hot buttons, due to
misunderstandings.
Sorry if I offended you. Shake ?

**I said (in regards to the theory of only having to document something
for competitions:
<snip>You see, that has a corollary to me - that because it's the SCA,
you should never even have to think about authenticity unless you want
to win awards.
Christina Elisabeth responded: <<Politely, horsepuckey >>**

Yes, I did. And I still mean it - but what I meant is: "horsepucky,
you should always think about authenticity, because if you don't it
just becomes a costume party, and not an event. And even if it's not
for someone else to judge/see/whatever, YOU at least know that you made
an attempt at getting it right, even if you didn't get it completely
right -- this time.

**I do personally see a need for negative documentation of the "This
recipe is not period" on the list of ingredients on the potluck dish
sort, if only to avoid the inaccurate assumptions mentioned above.
I don't want to inadvertently "teach" someone something wrong and
then have them point to me as their source.**

Yes. I hadn't really thought of it that way.
It hadn't occurred to me that -I- might be though of as 'An
Authority' (ooh, don't we talk posh <g>). I -will- do that, in the
future, because you're absolutely right. Thanks.

Bethra
