Further note:

Purslane was imported to this country as a potherb, just like dandelion, and
just like dandelion it naturalized and was for many years regarded as a weed.
 Many a handful of its succulent pink stems and small green leaves have I
grubbed up out of my aunt's garden.  It is also related to portuloca, a
similar plant which graduated to flower=hood.  Said to have a lemony taste.
