Oh, I don't know about that, Phlip....my Barony lived through a very
similar situation in the summer of 2000.  The timber losses were
appalling, and we lost a lot of houses/structures (although no loss of
human life, thank god).  It was like Armageddon here, for months.....the
fires would jump highways and interstates....fire crews everywhere and
restricted travel, folks moved into shelters....there were days when the
smoke was so intense you couldn't see across the street (very
eery--reminded me of when Mount St. Helens blew), and it was months
before you wanted to open a window.  Did *not* help that it was the Hot
Middle of Summer.....We all lived through it, but were very, very
lucky.....
